# Adding legal documents (T&C, Privacy policy, Terms of service)

## How to add / edit terms of service/terms and conditions/privacy policy

The Terms of Service (ToS), also known as "terms & conditions" or "terms of use," are a legal agreement between your business and the people who use your website or online store. They help you protect yourself and your customers from any problems that might come up.

**While it's not required, it's strongly advised to include terms and conditions on your website.** This way, you can safeguard your rights and take action against anyone who misuses or abuses your site. Having clear terms and conditions can be very helpful if there's ever a legal disagreement.

### How to add Terms of service and privacy policy to your store

Navigate to **Store settings**, from the **cog** icon in the menu bar

Scroll down to **Legal / Links** section and click the **edit** (**pencil icon**)

Add links to your **Terms of service** and **Privacy policy** documents and click **Save**.

Links to your ToS and Privacy policy documents are then displayed e.g in the footer of the email confirmation
