HeadQ’s CPQ solution makes it easier than ever to sell and configure multiple products in a single process. With the new Multiple Products feature, businesses can now manage several products within the same CPQ flow. This functionality works across a
What is Multiple Products in CPQ?
The Multiple Products feature enables customers to configure and purchase multiple items simultaneously within a single CPQ session. It comes in three different versions:
-
Inline Configuration – Customers always see all products and their quantity selectors, allowing them to choose how many units they want to purchase immediately. However, product-specific options (attributes) are not displayed.
-
Collapsible Configuration – Customers first select which products they want to configure. Once they expand a product, they can make detailed selections (options) before adding it to their order.
-
Select Product – Customers see a list of available products within CPQ and can choose one product at a time for configuration. This approach is useful when there are many product options, allowing users to focus on configuring one product at a time instead of managing multiple selections simultaneously.
How to Enable Multiple Products in CPQ
Activating Multiple Products is simple:
- Navigate to the Content menu in the CPQ settings.
- Add Multiple Products content block.
- Select the products that should be included in the Multiple Products setup.
It’s important to note that, unlike single-product configurations, products within Multiple Products cannot be edited directly from the CPQ interface. Instead, any modifications must be made through the individual product settings.
Two Approaches to Selling Multiple Products
There are two main ways to handle multiple products within CPQ, depending on the relationship between the products and the complexity of their options:
-
Using Multiple Products – This approach is ideal when the products are closely related and there are several of them. It keeps the CPQ process compact and structured while making it easier for buyers to configure and purchase multiple items within the same flow.
-
Building CPQ Around Individual Products – This method works better when the products are not strongly connected or only a few of them. This approach may also be preferable if a product has many configuration options, as it allows for a more detailed and focused configuration process without overcomplicating the CPQ interface.
Conclusion
The Multiple Products feature enhances CPQ by enabling businesses to sell multiple products in a seamless, structured way. Whether using Inline, Collapsible Configuration or Select Product, companies can optimize their CPQ setup for maximum efficiency. By selecting the right approach based on product complexity and volume, businesses can provide a smooth and intuitive buying experience.
